Position: Project Engineer
Location: Derby or Warwickshire (flexible across the region) with hybrid working available
Salary: £40-55k (Neg DOE), car/allowance (dependent upon level) and excellent benefits package
Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.
The Role: They are delivering on behalf of Severn Trent Water one of the largest and most varied water infrastructure improvement programmes in the UK.
Based within the Severn Trent Region, you will form an integral part of the project delivery team.
They are looking to strengthen their Delivery team with a Project Engineer or Contracts Engineer (Electrical bias) over 3 sites Burntwood, Brancote and Lutterworth.
You will report directly to the Project Manager and you will assist the Project/Construction Manager in co-ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy; ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme; provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations
Responsibilities: Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
Maintain good client relationships at all levels
Assist with the Project Management strategy
Establish and maintain the contract filing systems
Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports
Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues
Monitor subcontract performance
Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation
Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progressing of quality solutions
Evaluate innovative solutions and processes
Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis
Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain
Complete the capitalisation process
Develop procurement, and installation programmes on MS Project (training will be provided on how to use the software if not used before) and continue monitoring and updating them with the project manager and project team.
Draft subcontracts together with the QSs and manage deliver and administer the contracts
Review supply chain designs
Experience: Engineering background
Engineering/Technical qualification (HNC minimum) required
Experience of supply chain expedition
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (preferred)
CDM & Health & Safety knowledge
Relevant professional qualification an advantage
