Job Role: Civil Project Engineer (Water Industry)
Location: Hassocks
Salary: £50,000 + excellent benefits package
About the role:
Our client is a highly reputable consultancy looking to strengthen their existing team with a skilled Civil Project Engineer based in West Sussex. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering non-infrastructure water capital projects and providing forward-thinking engineering solutions as we approach the close of AMP7 schemes, with AMP8 just around the corner. This role will involve managing various aspects of project execution, ensuring successful project completion and operational readiness. Key responsibilities include:
Developing project objectives by reviewing proposals and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Coordinating logistics, procurement, and site activities.
Preparing detailed project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information, and recommending actions.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Compile engineering specifications to generate supply chain enquiries.
Review and create detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Conduct site surveys, including measurements, photos, and assessments of operational processes, access, and egress.
Resolve technical and logistical challenges, drawing on the team's expertise.
Coordinate project activities with stakeholders to ensure smooth progress.
Lead procurement efforts for materials and services.
Organise and prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines.
Attend client and operational meetings to maintain open communication.
Provide regular project progress reports to Senior Management.
Manage defects and ensure timely resolution.
Oversee day-to-day communication with suppliers and sub-contractors.
Evaluate supplier quotations and assess their value.
Ensure adherence to project schedules, reporting any discrepancies.
Assist in tender preparation, submitting for management review and approval.
Visit supplier premises to inspect and approve completed work.
Provide support to the management team, supervisors, and team leaders as needed.
Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
Maintain project delivery on time and within budget.
Promote a safe, clean working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations.
Perform any other duties as required.

UK Water project experience
Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
Degree or equivalent
Full UK Drivers Licence
