As they continue to grow, they are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Job Description:
As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of steel structures, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver high-quality designs within deadlines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and analyse steel structures including beams, columns, frames, and connections.
* Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, and STAAD Pro.
* Conduct structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the safety and stability of the structures.
* Collaborate with project teams to provide technical advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Review and approve design work submitted by other team members or subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with British Standards, Eurocodes, and other relevant industry regulations.
* Participate in site visits and inspections as required to verify design compliance and resolve any on-site issues.
* Prepare and present design reports and documentation to clients and stakeholders.
* Continuously improve design processes and keep up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on steel structures.
* Proficient in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, STAAD Pro, or similar.
* Strong knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant building regulations.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
