Location: Nottingham

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (Dependent on Experience)

This is a large, award-winning consultancy in their search for an experienced Civil Engineer/Team Leader to join their esteemed drainage infrastructure civils team. The Nottingham office has 2 people in the civils team who are a technician and engineer. The Nottingham office does a lot of education projects including residential ones and the work can be a very reactive fast paced environment.

As the Civil Teams Leader/Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing schematic/concept designs and detailed design of drainage and highways using Civils 3D
  • Undertaking drainage and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS) designs using Causeway Flow
  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports for planning
  • Collaborating with other construction professionals in design development and project management as necessary
  • Mentoring and resourcing junior team members
  • Project leader and manager of project finances


Main requirements:

  • Someone with good Civils 3D or equivalent with drainage networks experience
  • Experience of sustainable drainage systems concept and detailed design - essential
  • Highways design -S278/S38 agreements - desirable
  • Experience of mentoring and resourcing junior team members with a proactive approach
  • Line management experience to support team members in their career development
  • Professionally qualified or demonstrably working towards professional qualification
  • Interest in working in a variety of sectors supporting NHS, Department for Education and private sector
  • Experience of liaising with authorities and design team members with problem solving approach
