As a part-time intern ($23.00/hour) you will gain hands-on experience working on projects that improve the lives of those around us. We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about using their engineering knowledge and skills to problem solve and provide public service.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our successful candidate will perform and support routine technical engineering tasks in the planning, design and right of way sections, including operation of AutoCAD system. Our intern will research record drawings, review plans and specifications, review easement and encroachment documents, assist with cost estimation and field work all while being guided by our knowledgeable team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

Be a sophomore, junior or senior standing from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or graduate school student with major coursework in engineering.

Have knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts including algebra, analytical geometry and trigonometry as well as knowledge of modern principles and practices of civil and/or environmental engineering.

Have the ability to plan, coordinate and organize work to meet deadlines.

Possess strong communication skills, both orally and written.

Be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Have the ability to read and interpret geographical data and operate GIS system.

Although not a requirement, we prefer our successful candidate have the ability to prepare plans and drawings neatly and accurately using AutoCAD software along with possessing a knowledge of basic surveying and surveying practices.
