Description of Job
The College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. Applications for Associate Professor will be considered from candidates who are appropriately qualified. The position is available from August 15, 2025.
We seek applications from intellectually rigorous and passionate scholars that will either bring a new area of research to the Rinker School, or will add a significantly fresh perspective to an existing area of research strength. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and be able to contribute to core construction management education, as well as the ability and vision to develop and deliver graduate courses in their area of expertise. It is preferred that candidates demonstrate professional experience in construction or a construction-related profession, and a working knowledge of the United States construction industry.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential to attract external research funding, engage in multi-disciplinary research, and be motivated to collaborate with other faculty across the College of Design, Construction and Planning and within other colleges at the University of Florida. The successful faculty candidate will be expected to develop funded research programs, publish in peer-reviewed journals, supervise graduate student research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and provide service to the University, the community, and the profession.
The M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management
Established in 1935, Rinker School is the oldest continuing building construction program in the country. The Rinker School has nearly 8,000 graduates, over 320 upper-division undergraduate students, around 75 Master’s students, and nearly 50 Ph.D. students. The Rinker School has 29 full-time faculty members and 11 support staff. Our vibrant faculty are nationally and internationally recognized, consistently attracting a significant amount of research funding every year.

MINIMUM Qualifications
An earned doctorate in construction management, building construction, civil engineering, architectural engineering, or closely related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in construction or a construction-related field and a working knowledge of the United States construction industry
University-level teaching experience in core construction management subjects.
