Wilkes University invites applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the field of Civil Engineering to join the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department starting August 2025. The department offers exclusively undergraduate degrees with a long tradition of personalized learning and teaching experiences featuring small class sizes, publishable undergraduate research, and hands-on projects. Professional experience in Geotechnical and Structural Engineering or a closely related field will be considered favorably. Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation and structural design, transportation and construction management is desired. Candidates with other relevant experience will be considered. Duties would be focused on flexibility in teaching foundation courses for engineering, environmental science, and geology majors, bringing expertise to upper level civil engineering electives and contributing to the continued development of the program. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide outstanding classroom, laboratory, and in-field instruction for engineering and science courses. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications begins November 15, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
