At LCRA, we are looking for a dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of River Operations! As a part of LCRA’s Water Operations team, the Director leads staff responsible for managing water supply operations and flood events. The Director provides oversight and direction to the River Operations Control Center and its related engineering and hydrologic functions. This position requires strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance operational goals with sustainable practices. Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about reservoir operations during flood events as well as management of water supply operations in a large basin. This role is an integral part of our river operations team and LCRA’s mission to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve through water stewardship, energy, and community service!

You will be trusted to:

- Provide technical oversight to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis related to the operation of rivers and dams.
- Ensure operations consistent with LCRA’s water rights, Water Management Plan, USACE rules and other requirements.
- Develop and deliver various reports and presentations to management, executives and other stakeholders.
- Oversee supervisor and staff responsible for river operations and Hydromet.

You qualify with:

- Eight or more years of post-Bachelors experience or other relevant experience, including experience in flood control operations for major reservoirs, remote data collection systems and providing leadership for water operations teams.
- A degree(s) in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
