About the role
Working as a Graduate Civil Engineer within our Design & Construct (D&C) teams, you will play a key role in delivering an expanding workload for our clients on several D&C frameworks throughout the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects covering all aspects of wastewater and water networks and treatment facilities through the project lifespan from feasibility design to detailed design to construction. An interest in water/wastewater engineering would be beneficial. The role is based in Durham and offers a hybrid working pattern with 2/3 days per week in our office.
This role is a September 2025 start.
What a typical day could look like
Undertaking outline and detail design, both individually (under supervision) and as part of a wider team, for projects within specified timescales.
Assisting with design support activities during construction and carrying out site visits, surveys and inspections.
Implementing the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
Preparing and checking feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports and other written documents in an appropriate format ensuring compliance with Avove procedures.
Complying with the requirements of the companies integrated management system including health & safety, environmental and all other appropriate regulations.
Preparing/checking design approach, calculations, drawings and documents.
About you

You should be agile, resilient and ready to take on real industry challenges.
We would like you to be graduating in 2025 or have recently graduated and hold at least a 2:2-degree qualification in Civil Engineering. You will be computer literate, have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team. We would also like you to be organised, self-driven and have good attention to detail with a desire to keep on developing.
A degree in Civil Engineering is required for this role to satisfy the current entry requirements for CEng or IEng through ICE or equivalent professional qualifications for technical disciplines relevant to civil, or water engineering.
