Job Title: Water Treatment Engineer
Location: Canary Wharf
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Salary: £38,000
About the Role:
I am seeking a skilled and experienced Water Treatment Engineer to join my client's team, to be based at a site in Canary Wharf. In this role, you will primarily oversee water maintenance tasks across this large office building.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Monitoring of Water Systems:
* Perform daily checks on water systems, including temperature and flow rate measurements, in the designated buildings.
* Identify and record any signs of irregularities or issues in water quality, pressure, or equipment function.
* Report anomalies to ensure prompt action by relevant staff.
Assistance with Maintenance and Repairs:
* Support technical staff during repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
* Prepare tools, equipment, and work areas for technical staff, assisting with tasks under supervision.
* Aid in the replacement of parts or equipment as directed by technical personnel.
Non-Technical Engineering Maintenance Tests:
* Conduct basic, non-technical tests (e.g., simple pressure or temperature checks) to ensure operational standards.
* Ensure all findings are documented and communicated to supervisors or technical staff.
Upkeep of Plant and Work Areas:
* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in plant rooms, workshops, and storage areas.
* Properly dispose of waste materials and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Weekly/Monthly Compliance Tasks on Water Systems:
* Carry out routine tasks such as flushing unused outlets, descaling fixtures, and recording water temperature data.
* Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines related to water system hygiene and safety.
Failsafe Testing and TMV (Thermostatic Mixing Valve) Servicing:
* Undertake tests to confirm TMVs are functioning correctly to prevent scalding and bacterial growth.
* Service TMVs as instructed, including cleaning and calibrating to ensure safe water temperatures.
