At Heyne Tillett Steel, we believe in nurturing talent and providing an environment that fosters continuous learning and growth. Our internal learning initiatives, combined with the autonomy we offer to our graduates, set us apart from others. For instance, we hold company meetings every Tuesday and Thursday, where all staff are encouraged to present their ideas. We also facilitate open debates on technical design and hold assemblies to address both technical and people-related issues among our staff.
In addition, we actively involve engineers at all levels in meetings and engagements with design teams. We encourage regular site visits and offer specialized training for our graduate cohort.
An ideal candidate will have:
As a Structural Engineer, your role is pivotal in crafting structures that not only withstand environmental factors and human usage but also ensure enduring stability and security. This encompasses responsibilities such as assessing existing structures for their structural integrity and fitness for purpose, and overseeing the selection of appropriate materials like concrete, steel, timber, and masonry to meet design specifications. Collaborating closely with architects and fellow engineering professionals, you contribute to the design of structures across various sectors. Moreover, you actively inspect work and provide valuable guidance to contractors, playing a crucial role in every stage of the process. As a member of our in-house research team, you are at the forefront of decision-making processes, actively contributing to reducing the embodied energy of our projects and spearheading industry-wide decarbonization efforts.
