Join our dynamic Civil Engineering team as a Senior Civil Engineer, where your expertise will be vital in tackling engineering challenges and producing exceptional designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports-all while ensuring we meet regulatory standards. Working closely with the Principal Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to envision and create innovative water and wastewater treatment systems and infrastructure designs.
Your valuable insights will play a key role in developing and mentoring your colleagues and guiding project briefs to ensure we achieve outstanding engineering solutions on every project and being part of our commitment to sustainable engineering, which drives Thames Water's success into AMP8 and beyond. Your contributions can genuinely change lives and make a meaningful difference in our community and for the environment.
What you'll be doing
Undertaking root cause analyses to fully understand causes/sources of the engineering issues affecting the performance of existing wastewater network assets.
Liaison with internal stakeholders in areas such as operations, network modelling, and asset management.
Identification and definition of the correct optimised engineering solutions.
Provide civil infrastructure input into feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing, and preliminary designs.
Providing the technical input into Project Definition Briefs.
Supporting the establishment of a cohesive, sustainable Engineering structure from Graduate to Industry experts that leads Thames's Engineering requirements into AMP8 and beyond.Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court, you will be required on-site as part of your role requires you to, on average 2-3 days a week
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
Degree level or equivalent in their Engineering Discipline and preferably with professional chartership.
Experience in designing new and rehabilitating wastewater utility civil infrastructure such as sewers, pumping stations, rising mains, CSOs and storage tanks.
Ability to assess the buildability of proposed engineering solutions.
Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.
Good internal and external communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence colleagues.
Experience in producing Design Management plans and delivering to plan.What's in it for you?
