JOB DESCRIPTION
CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer for Steelworks to be based in Bristol, the successful applicant will take a leading role in the delivery of technical solutions on the HPC & SZC projects throughout its Design & construction.
Location: Bristol, UK.
Type of Contract: Contract inside IR35
Key duties will include:
You be involved in the wide-ranging activities undertaken by our Site and Office teams, which will include:
Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3 and ETC-C, other relevant codes
Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design
Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the SW design
Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models
Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures
Liaising with teams in France
Resolving identified technical issues
Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.
Produces the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes).
Coordinate CAD Design
Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents
Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building.
Create and maintain and responsible for the Design Risk Register
Responsible for anchorage design activities
Requirements:
Use of softwares like Microsoft Word/Excel, Navisworks, RSTAB (or similar), FEA
University Degree or Engineering diploma + 6 years of experience in a Similar field
Experience in Design of seismically classified steel platforms and structures from concept to detailed design delivery
Use of 3D modelling and structural analysis tools
Knowledge / Understanding of PWRs would be an advantage
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous
Knowledge/understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and especially
knowledge of the design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.
Knows how to deal with the design and layout constraints
Independent ability to coordinate the work of Technicians and Junior Managers
