Blueprint Recruitment have an excellent new opportunity for a driven Structural Engineer to join a reputable engineering consultancy on a permanent basis in Leeds. The successful candidate will be required to work on a hybrid basis, attending the office 3 days per week. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects within the defence, industrial, transportation and commercial projects.

Our client is a leading global engineering and project management consultancy known for handling complex infrastructure and engineering projects across multiple sectors, including transportation, energy, water, and the built environment. They have a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions on high-profile projects worldwide, from rail systems and highways to sustainable urban developments and energy facilities.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee structural engineering aspects of various projects, especially within the defence, industrial, transportation, and commercial sectors.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful and timely project completion.
  • Provide guidance on structural design and analysis, focusing on innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure high standards.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and offer technical advice to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development, providing feedback and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure all project activities and designs comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Conduct quality reviews to maintain safety, durability, and reliability in all structural work.


Key requirements
  • Significant experience as a Structural Engineer, with a proven background in managing complex projects across sectors like defence, transportation, and industrial/commercial structures.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, with the ability to apply innovative approaches to complex designs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or eligibility with relevant engineering institutions (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
