Nexos have a requirement for a Lead/Principal Structural/Civil Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis in Aberdeen.
You will ensure structural engineering deliverables and activities are prepared and executed in alignment with company engineering procedures and core values. Accountable for managing delivery and maintaining technical excellence for assigned project/contract portfolio. Your regular duties will include:

You will ensure structural engineering deliverables and activities are prepared and executed in alignment with company engineering procedures and core values. Accountable for managing delivery and maintaining technical excellence for assigned project/contract portfolio. Your regular duties will include:
- Maintaining required technical quality of work, in accordance with originating, checking and approval procedures.
- Supporting development and competency of subordinates.
- Ensuring and maintaining effective communication between all relevant stakeholders - client, engineering and project teams, the wider company leadership team, and support functions.
- Overall management of assigned team, including workload allocation, quality assurance, and delivery to plans.
- Providing design input into tenders and proposals, as required.
- Providing technical input into scopes of work, and preparing estimates, as required.
- Ensuring that assigned work is compliant to agreed budget and schedule.
- Preparing discipline deliverables (as appropriate) and providing input to multi-discipline deliverables.
- Checking/approval of discipline deliverables prepared by other team members.
- Discipline focal point for project scope/schedule change(s) in accordance with project change control process.
- Ensuring compliance to applicable and current standards, regulations, codes and procedures.
- Supporting the recruitment process for discipline personnel across the business.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
- Chartered with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, IStructE).
- Brownfield experience in the offshore sector.
- Technical competence in concept, FEED and detailed design of steel structures.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, AISC, DNV, etc.).
- Proven track record of effectively managing a team of engineers/designers.
- Competence in ensuring quality of work and delivery to agreed schedules.
- Competence in the use of relevant engineering analysis and calculation software (e.g. STAAD.Pro, Mathcad, and any other relevant packages).
- Competence in commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of engineering.
