The Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing designs, analyses, and consulting for a variety of building and non-building structures supporting DOE/NNSA and commercial nuclear projects and missions.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects. (Senior Level)
- Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design.
- Perform analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structures.
- Conduct construction document reviews as required.
- Perform facility walkdowns as required.
- Coordinate and iterate design efforts with other engineering disciplines and customer stakeholders.
- Perform all work under quality assurance requirements, which conform to the company Quality Assurance Program and/or regulatory requirements from other U.S. government agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- 3+ years of design or field experience.
- Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with structural analysis hand calculations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. (i.e. STAAD.Pro, SAP2000)
- 2+ years of experience in specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
- Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is a plus.
- Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred.
