HartleyCo has been retained by a leading Recreational Water business who are steeped in history. Being in charge of some of the most famous Water Engineering feats the UK has ever seen, right the way through to modern water play parks this business is entrusted by the most notable names in the industry.

Think Trafalgar Square, think Bellagio fountains, think The Dubai Fountains UAE... this is the type of features our client does with their eyes closed.

Your role...

Duties:
  • Design of Water Fountains & Water Play areas
  • Carry out calculations for designs
  • Specify & scope projects for new & existing designs and double checking upon project wins
  • Create detailed surveys and reports for sites of existing customers
  • Create technical documentation and manuals
  • Some Health & Safety and Risk Assessments
  • Liaise with Suppliers
  • 50% Mechanical Engineering, 30% Electrical Engineering, 20% Civil Engineering
  • All travel to client sites would be using a company vehicle or company funded journeys on public transport. Full time use of a company vehicle is not included, however, use of a pool vehicle is always available from the Rochester office. Generally, every day would start from the office.


Location:
  • 60 Minutes from Rochester
  • Sites all within South-East of England, max 2 hour journey
  • Open to someone WFH up to a couple of times per week

  • Project planning and management


Essential Skills:
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering (slightly less importance than mechanical engineering but this person will be doing both)
  • Physical, hands on experience NOT purely theory
  • Knowledge of pumps
  • Knowledge of plastic piping systems (ABS, uPVC, PE) and metal piping systems (Stainless Steel).
  • The person must be a self-starter and able to work under their own initiative and either alone or part of a team.


Desirable NOT Essential Skills:
  • Auto CAD
  • Engineering apprenticeship
  • Degree-level qualification in relevant field
  • NVQ, National Cert. and HNC/HND


Miscellaneous:
  • Attributes & attitude of work hard, want to learn, want to grow etc
  • Some synergy with Swimming Pools, so would look at backgrounds from here
  • Our clients use 4 & 6 inch plastic pipes, not what you find in domestic plumbing
  • Could potentially sponsor an overseas candidate again


Interview Process: 2 Stages
  • Phone Interview with MD
  • Final interview in person meeting MD, HR & Ops Manager
