Senior Civil Engineer (Edinburgh/Glasgow)

Our client, a well-established medium-sized engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join their Edinburgh or Glasgow office. The Role:

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead and manage a variety of civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable outcomes. You'll also play a crucial role in mentoring and developing junior engineers, while helping to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor project teams, providing guidance to engineers at all experience levels and promoting a collaborative and supportive work culture.
• Project Oversight: Lead multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards. Coordinate resources effectively, engage with stakeholders, and adhere to the consultancy's QMS and IMS procedures.
• Training & Development: Assess the training needs of junior engineers, ensure they have access to the necessary tools and software, and actively support their career development.
• Financial Management: Track project budgets and timelines, promptly addressing any changes in billing or resource allocation with senior management to maintain profitability.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business and new projects. Contribute to the preparation of bids to help secure future work.
