Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset

Contract length: 3 months (the job is until summer 2025, with an opportunity to extend, so potential for extension)

Rate: PAYE - Inside IR35

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for Balfour Beatty, on their prestigious Hinkley Point C project, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Junior / Graduate Civil Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a major marine and tunnelling design and build contract.

The Role:

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience on a large-scale, high-profile project. You will be working alongside experienced professionals and will have the chance to develop your skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. You will be liaising with various teams, tracing and sharing design changes, and contributing significantly to the success of the Hinkley Point C project.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Design Manager in the delivery of detailed design packages supporting the offshore works programme.
  • Assist with tunnel design, including change control and management of design changes.
  • Interface with various stakeholders.


Key Skills and experience required:
  • A flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change
  • A team focus with the ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
  • A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and influence key decisions
  • A full, clean UK driving licence


Essential:
  • A 2:1 BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in in Civil or Structural Engineering, or Geotechnical Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand and interpret reinforcement drawings
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing change control processes
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and contribute within a team


Desirable:
  • Experience within an engineering environment.
  • Experience in a tunnelling or secondary lining environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD or 3D modelling software
  • Experience in reinforcement detailing
