Structural Engineer (Shock and Dynamics)
Client: BAE Systems (Supporting David Brown Defence)
Location: Huddersfield
Duration: 3 months
Pay Rate: £37.93 PAYE or £50.05 Umbrella
Working Arrangements: 5 days on site per week

Client: BAE Systems (Supporting David Brown Defence)
Location: Huddersfield
Duration: 3 months

Working Arrangements: 5 days on site per week
Your Responsibilities:
- Assess mechanical design for strength, durability, performance and safety through application of appropriate methodologies i.e., finite element techniques, first principle hand calculations, system analysis, rotor dynamics, etc.
- Proficient use of Finite Element Analysis tools
- Ability to conduct classical static stress and fatigue analysis and complex hand calculations from first principles
- Knowledge of materials and processing techniques
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and design protocols (ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV for example)
- Knowledge of gearbox design: shafts, bearings and gearcases. This includes associated technologies such as rotor dynamics, tribology, bearings, thermal response, noise and vibration.
- Knowledge of structural analysis techniques, including fatigue analysis to the level required for component certification by outside bodies.
- Experienced in the use of ANSYS software
