Location: Basildon

Salary: £90,000 to £120,000 depending on experience plus competitive benefits package

Our client a market leader within the Defence / Space industry are currently looking for a Head of Engineering to Review, Analyse and evaluate business procedures in order to improve day to day operations, ensuring smooth processes.

Your duties:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of Engineering, ensuring organisational goals and objectives are aligned.
  • Lead a multi disciplinary team of engineers to deliver projects to time, cost and quality
  • Create a culture of excellence and accountability, inspiring team members to achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional results.
  • Support business development activities by participating in customer meetings, providing input into proposals, and identifying engineers to support conceptual designs.
  • Manage the R&D team to execute internal research to support programmes
  • Manage the Engineering overhead budgets, including: training, engineering infrastructure, equipment, and R&D projects.
  • Work with other departments to contribute to cross functional excellence across the programmes

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the development of electronics and/or imaging systems
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing large teams and complex organisations
  • Ability to build and maintain engineering teams that can execute challenging projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics design and systems engineering.
