Job Details

The Senior Engineer position at the San Diego County Water Authority is part of the Engineering Department’s Design Services group. This role acts as a Project Manager and Leader for complex projects, conducting technical analysis, research, and design for a variety of capital improvement, major maintenance, and other Water Authority initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, supervising, and reviewing the work of assigned professional and technical staff.

 

The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter and effective communicator who is organized and thrives in a fast-paced, challenging work environment. The Senior Engineer is responsible for developing and managing contracts and supervising a team of engineers. The successful candidate will have the ability to balance mentoring, supervising, and leading technical teams, while performing project related work. This person is technically sound with experience completing engineering designs as the Engineer of Record and has knowledge of hydraulic principles, design process, quality assurance/quality control, and construction methods. In addition, the ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, can successfully resolve project issues, and is comfortable working with various stakeholders.
