AA Euro Group are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our clients team specializing in substation construction and refurbishment projects. You will play a critical role in delivering civil engineering solutions for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project timelines.
This is a full-time permanent position covering multiple sites across the London area.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Delivery: Plan, design, and oversee civil works for substation projects, including site preparation, foundations, drainage, access roads, and structural components.
* Technical Coordination: Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of civil works with overall project requirements.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and on-site activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM regulations.
* Site Management: Conduct site inspections, resolve technical challenges, and provide guidance to subcontractors and site teams.
* Quality Assurance: Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and quality plans to uphold project standards.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to manage expectations and approvals.
Requirements
* Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Chartered status or working towards membership (ICE or equivalent).
* Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering, with a focus on substations or power infrastructure projects.
* Proven track record of delivering projects to specification, on time, and within budget.
* Skills:
* Strong knowledge of substation foundations, drainage, and structural design.
* Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication and leadership skills
