Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Engineer/Planner to join our Transportation Group in Burlington, ON to support our Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Team.
Client, stakeholder, agency and public liaison
Coordination with various supporting disciplines (traffic, structural, water resources, natural sciences, etc.), Project Managers and CAD staff
Development and assessment of alternative planning solutions and designs
Preparation of preliminary geometric, grading and drainage designs for arterial roads and transit systems
Working to ensure projects needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Production of high quality written reports and drawing packages
Assistance in preparing Feasibility Studies, ESRs, proposals and project presentations
Skills / Qualifications
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in the transportation field
Familiar with the use of some or all key software applications including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and InRoads
Familiar with applicable roadway design standards, including TAC Geometric Design Guide and MTO Roadside Design Manual
Registered or eligible for registration with PEO
Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities – all projects involve work with the public
A willingness to work in a team atmosphere
