Purpose and Scope:
Responsible to plan and oversee activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards. Scope includes handling the day-to-day issues with product quality, interfacing with engineering disciplines within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
Collaborate with customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical components and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
Coordinate with Project Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
Oversee the controlled document system, to include a final review of all changes to procedures, work instructions, forms, master lists and other associated documents to confirm quality certification requirements are met.
Provide engineering support to operations verifying consistent application of quality techniques.
Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerance, and materials related issues.
Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and provide support
Communicate and reinforce our commitment to quality improvement efforts.
Review and analyze test reports / results. Witness and / or assist testing and audits to verify product quality meets expectations prior to shipment. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
Apply good manufacturing practice and observe to verify adherence.
Develop and maintain manufacturing audit process to assure compliance to specification and procedures.
Lead and/or participates in preventative and corrective action programs.
Assist in ISO management: assist in development, execution and maintenance of department documentation. Demonstrate and manage implementation of principles and participate in audits.
Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
Participate in quality reporting and management review process.

Work Environment This job partially operates in a shop environment. Uncontrolled temperature – can fluctuate from hotter to cooler temperatures as seasons change. Conditions are limitedly controlled as needed.
Personal Protective Equipment is provided where needed—safety glasses and steel or ceramic toe shoes.
Education and Experience
Minimum 2-year degree and ISO Internal audit certification is preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of documentation requirements related to international shipping regulations.
Understand and apply processes related to supplier quality management.
Demonstrate organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
Work independently to maintain expected timelines.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrate teaming, communication and time management skills required.
Make logical judgement calls and decisions.
Functional knowledge of MS Project, Primavera, Visio knowledge is a plus.
Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access proficiency.
Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for 50% of the time.
Frequently moves about the office and shop to access file cabinets, office machinery, team members, equipment in production.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer, calculator, copy machine,
Occasionally operates XRF analyzers, tools.
Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to inspect equipment in Shop.
Constantly positions self to inspect equipment in Shop.
This position frequently communicates with employees. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
