With its central location, affordable housing, and emerging economy, the City of Stockton offers an exciting career opportunity for a Deputy Municipal Utilities Director/Water. This at-will position reports directly to the Director of Municipal Utilities and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Water Utility, which provides drinking water service to approximately 55% of the Stockton Metropolitan area, provides long-term water resources planning, and maintains a water transmission and distribution system. The ideal candidate will have the technical skills necessary to effectively manage a large and complex water production and distribution system, including water treatment processes, pumping systems, SCADA systems, and integrated energy management systems.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources planning or operations management in a public water utility with a combination of ground and surface water sources. California registration as a PE is desired.
