Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions currently has opportunities available for a Senior Construction Manager in San Antonio, TX and Northern Virginia.
The Senior Data Center Construction Manager will serve as the Owner’s Agent and will be responsible for ensuring the project scope, schedule, and budget for the construction of a design-build data center facility is managed and quality results are delivered that meet or exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities •Monitor the execution of the project scope from pre-planning, preconstruction, construction, and construction close-out •Support project work to contract and design standards •Oversee quality delivery; manage Non-Conformance Reports and resolution •Engage in site safety and actively promote delivery of a safe product •Perform safety and quality audits •Manage and administer construction contracts; review pay applications for payment •Identify project objectives and milestones; monitor the development and implementation of action plans, schedules and budgets by the General Contractor and their sub-tier vendors and consultants •Review the project schedule against the critical path and perform variance analyses to ensure impacts are minimized and the schedule is maintained •Support the change management process in providing clarification and guidance on questions regarding scope, justification, and technical detail •Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks and monitor the development and implementation of corrective action plans •Establish, coordinate, and attend/conduct all necessary project meetings •Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering scope, budget and overall project status •Ensure all required project documentation is completed in a timely manner and is maintained in the appropriate master project files inclusive of all reports, logs, submittals, RFIs, specifications & drawings, correspondence and other relevant documentation •Manage construction logistics, procurement, and supply chain management, including Owner Furnished Contractor Installed equipment
Skills / Qualifications •US Citizen, able to obtain DoD issued security clearance •Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a relevant Engineering field. •7+ years of construction project management experience on data center facilities •Experience managing a complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary, design-build construction project; mission critical facility experience a plus •Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or other similar certifications, preferred •Knowledgeable in major regulations, industry codes and standards as well as basic construction materials, means, and methods
