Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Mid-level Engineering Technician to assist the office located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The work may require travel outside of the local area.
Key Responsibilities Collecting and managing data associated with the BUILDERTM Sustainment Management System and its modules (e.g., RAILER, PAVER, and ROOFER), including comprehensive facility condition assessments Assessing and documenting conditions and deficiencies for facility, equipment, and supporting infrastructure in accordance with specifications and building codes Validating and updating asset inventories, including associated Geographic Information System (GIS) data Recommending corrective actions for facility/equipment deficiencies, including providing data for preparing cost estimates
Additional Responsibilities Surveys and assessments for indoor air quality Surveys and assessments for hazardous materials (such as asbestos, mold, and lead-based paint) Energy and water efficiency conservation assessments
Skills / Qualifications Two year technical college or trade school certification in a related field 5-8 years of progressive experience related to the identified responsibilities Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and switch gears quickly Ability to travel and work flexible hours, possibly including nights and weekends Ability to work with or without extensive oversight in a team environment Ability to work in a wide range of environmental conditions, indoors and outdoors Strong technical writing and verbal communications skills Computer skills, including mobile devices such as tablets for both office work and field data collection Careful attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills Ability to obtain authorization to access Federal work sites Must pass drug screening, background check, and physical exam
