POLLMANN is a FAMILY-OWNED international Company with more than 100 years of experience. As a Tier II supplier, we develop and produce a variety of MECHATRONIC subassemblies and products from MATERIAL-COMPOSITE plastic and metal in the global Automotive Industry. Examples are transmission cases for automotive locks and locking systems for convertible tops, sunroof kinetics, connecting units for gasoline pumps, function-integrated housing for door latch systems, and hood and tailgate locks. Our specialty is insert molding and assembly in a complex automation environment.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer for our Romeoville manufacturing facility. We will consider candidates with strong automotive background and quality engineering experience in all phases of product life cycle; solid technical experience ideally in injection molding and precision stamping are preferred and proficiency in metrology is expected.
Main Job Functions
Supervises product quality for assigned products/projects throughout product life cycle (project phase, regular serial type production, post serial type production).
Leads part approval process internally as well towards assigned customers and suppliers; prepares and updates related documentation including flow charts, control plan, FMEA, MSA, dimensioning report, SPC.
Plans and develops standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation; evaluates feasibility on customer requests.
Handles quality claims (customer, internal, supplier); manages root cause analysis and corrective actions; updates related documents including FMEA.
Assists with the implementation of new or changed customer requirements; monitors compliance of existing and new customer requirements.
Job specific Competencies required
Degree in Engineering (mechanical, plastics, mechatronics, industrial) or equivalent on the job experience.
Minimum of 5 years recent experience with Tier I automotive customers for functional components.
Experience with automotive customer interactions (product launch, negotiations, complaints, etc.).
Proficient with metrology and measurement tools and techniques including GD&T.
ASQ and Internal Auditor Certification preferred.
Ability to lead/guide teams and facilitate for successful completion of projects.
Strong data analysis, interpretation and presentation skills.
Experience with plastic injection molding and stamping processes preferred.
