The School of Technology, Art, & Design at Bemidji State University invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the field of Operations and Project Management (O&PM). We are particularly seeking candidates to teach undergraduate courses in the following degree programs: BS Project Management, BS Engineering Technology, BAS Applied Management, and BAS Applied Engineering. The ideal candidate will be expected to teach on a rotating basis in the following areas: Introduction to Economic and Cost Analysis; Project Management (methods, applications, technologies e.g. Microsoft Project, Excel ...); Technical Sales, Service and Training; Emphasis Related Capstone; Sustainability and Emerging Technologies; and other courses as determined. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a strong commitment to teach effectively, produce quality scholarly activity, and provide services to student, university and community. Responsibilities for this position will also include managing classroom and laboratory facilities for safety; therefore, the applicant should be familiar with OSHA standards as related to lab safety. The candidate will be required to work with other faculty members and students in curriculum development, HLC assessment, ATMAE / PMI accreditation, student advising, and student placement activities. Involvement with Quality Matters, advising Student Clubs, and familiarity with professional organizations such as ATMAE, APICS, and PMI are considered desirable. In addition, the faculty member should have the skills/ability to design and deliver online courses using learning management systems such as Brightspace-Desire To Learn (D2L) platform or willingness to obtain necessary skills for online course design and delivery.
Minimum: •Earned doctorate in Operations or Project Management or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution at the start of employment. •Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching is required. Preferred: •Skills/ability to design and deliver online courses with Brightspace Desire To Learn (D2L) platform. •Recent industrial experience in the field of Operations or Project Management or closely related field experience. •Demonstrated experience working with and/or interest working with students and colleagues from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds and using culturally responsive pedagogy and practice
