New Castle County seeks individuals that apply basic professional engineering knowledge and skills to all phases of mechanical and/or civil engineering projects in the design, planning, construction, inspection, and maintenance. Emphasis is on hydraulics, hydrology and topography and/or pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities. Assignments afford opportunities for independent planning of work details and for some latitude in making technical determinations. Supervision and direction is received from Professional Engineers or managers who are responsible for achieving project or program goals. Coordinates and helps manage departmental projects and services. The position requires graduation from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC or ABET, Inc.) accredited engineering school with major work in mechanical and civil engineering; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
