In business for over 40 years, we are seeking a dynamic person eager to gain experience in and lend their experience to a wide range of projects including water/wastewater/utility design, land planning/design, sophisticated water resource modeling, road/bridge design, cost estimates, CIP projects, preparation of written technical reports and engineering studies. Candidate must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and be willing to work well in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Engaging in long range planning and design for capital improvement projects involving water, waste water, SCADA, road/bridge, other infrastructure.
Prepare/Evaluate/respond to proposals related to engineering projects. Will be involved in preparation of project cost estimates for competitive bidding purposes, review construction and engineering plans and evaluate performance of project vs. plan.
Making presentations, facilitating meetings, and compiling written reports to City Councils, Commissioner’s Courts, Boards, committees, commissions, professional and technical personnel, and the public.
Involvement in evaluating engineering related issues for ROW acquisition, utility relocations, drainage and other infrastructure projects.
Involvement in grant projects and managing payment and reimbursement schedules.
Be called on to provide information and technical assistance to other office engineers, consultants, developers, private citizens and/or public clients.
Requirements:
BS in engineering (any engineering field).
PE license or EIT
Preferred minimum of 3 years' experience in the field of public works, drainage, water, wastewater, land design and/or road/bridge design.
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modelling software. MicroStation experience a plus.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
