Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Entry - Level Engineer with 0 – 2 years of consulting experience to join our Austin, Texas office and become an integral member of our technical team. Key responsibilities will include providing field and office support on various projects for existing and new environmental / industrial / government clients. Wood's Environment & Infrastructure Solutions division is a multi - disciplined consulting organization primarily consisting of environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. Key Responsibilities: This person will be a member of a team providing primarily civil and environmental engineering services to private industry and government clients. This position will support a wide variety of projects that include water / wastewater treatment plant design / construction management, transmission / distribution design / construction management, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, stormwater management and permitting, stormwater infrastructure design, spill prevention and response, environmental permitting and remediation. Some to the responsibilities of this position will include: - Assist in the preparation of SPCC Plans and SWPPP and various permitting activities
- Perform soil / groundwater investigations to support remediation system designs
- Perform complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved technologies and procedures
- Assist in design / construction management of water / wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, and drainage projects
- Develop extensive knowledge of south and southwest region municipal water / wastewater market
- Assist with data assessment and report preparation
- Adherence to health and safety plans, work plans, and other project guidance documents
- Assist in conceptual and detail engineering designs
- Perform detailed hydraulic modeling
Skills / Qualifications Required: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 0 - 2 years of experience of engineering and design experience in Texas
- Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong written, verbal, and inter - personal skills
- Good team building skills and ability to lead by influence
- Good time - management skills and ability to focus and attention to detail
- Must be organized and able to communicate clearly
- Team player and technical contributor
- Able to operate within scope, schedule and budget during project implementation
Preferred: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- State of Texas Engineer - in - Training
- OSHA HAZWOPER Trained
