Pacific Crest Engineering has an immediate opening for a Senior/Associate Project Engineer to provide geotechnical analysis, design and project management for a wide range of commercial, public works, institutional and residential projects in the Monterey Bay area of California. Job duties require management and oversight of geotechnical, materials testing and construction projects that include meeting and interacting with the client and design team as well as managing budgets. Job duties also include coordination of, and participation in, field activities including logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores; evaluation of geologic and seismic hazards; forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes; perform liquefaction, slope stability, and settlement analyses; and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports. Experience with construction and grading activities is strongly desired. The Senior/Associate Project Engineer will also provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists and field technicians as well as marketing support, including proposal preparation with scope, schedule and budget.
Required Skills: The successful candidate should be a licensed professional Civil or Geotechnical engineer with 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical consulting. The ideal candidate will bring local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice. Candidate should be a team player, be detail oriented and have excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Education: BSCE required (Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering), M.S. preferred.
