| University of New Haven Tagliatela College of Engineering Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Tenure-track) Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with primary expertise in geotechnical engineering and secondary expertise in pavement design. The position will commence in Fall 2021. Exceptional candidates with prior teaching experience and a strong record of scholarship may be considered for an associate professor appointment. Responsibilities - Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in geotechnical engineering and general engineering, advise and mentor students, and advise capstone design projects.
- Develop a strong externally-funded research program and publish scholarly work.
- Develop and teach online courses.
- Perform service at the professional, program, departmental, college and university.
- The ability to teach pavement design and professional ethics is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications - D. in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure or the ability to obtain the PE license within three years.
- Relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork.
- Candidates with interest in active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement are desirable.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
