PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, designs, and coordinates complex construction, rehabilitation, and/or alteration of structures, facilities, equipment, and/or other rail infrastructure systems.
Coordinates the activities of assigned project staff and/or contractors in the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.
Recommends standards and criteria for design and construction for complex engineering projects. Develops designs, proposals, schedules, and cost estimates for assigned projects.
Evaluates progress and results of engineering activity and recommend changes in procedures of assigned projects.
Maintains liaison with individuals and units (internally and externally) to facilitate the completion of assigned projects.
Estimates human and other resources needs and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Structural engineering discipline or equivalent
Three years (3) of applied engineering experience, including project management experience.
Knowledge and proficiency of structural loads, forces, reactions, and behaviors to perform rehabilitation design on roadways and/or railroad bridges required.
A Professional Engineer License in the state of New Jersey is desired.
