Goodhart Sons, Inc. is accepting applications for a full time CAD Mechanical Designer position. The CAD Mechanical Designer position involves field measuring, producing layout, General Arrangement and detail drawings and Bills of Material to be used during shop fabrication and field installation of items such as chutes, bins, tanks, hoppers, ductwork, weldments, structural steel framing, and access steel. The preferred applicant would: - Be proficient with AutoCAD, Solidworks and all MS office programs.
- Possess the ability to travel to customer job sites and be proficient at field measuring with tape measures, plumb bobs, lasers, and transits.
- Be able to produce flat layouts of various shapes including transitions, tap-ins, elbows, cones etc. using a combination of intersection and radial line development and parallel line development techniques.
- Be able to work with Fabrication department to ensure drawings are clearly understood.
- Have strong math (Trigonometry and Geometry) skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Have basic knowledge of weld symbols.
- Understand the basics of steel fabrication (Layout, Sawing, Bending, Burning, Welding)
