Engineer I Level responsibilities of this position include the following: Analyze and design equipment, building and steel structures and foundations. Develop moderately complex studies of limited scope and prepare data for cost estimations and analyses. Develop structural plans, details, and calculations. Develop site, grading and fence plans in AutoCAD. Develop structural drawing mark ups for drafters and designers.
Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards. Review construction submittals to ensure adherence to company engineering standards. Prepare and review structural calculations, designs, details, drawings and construction specifications for substation structures and foundations.
In addition, the Engineer II level responsibilities include: Design, develop, modify, and evaluate structures, foundations, process, or facilities to support Company objectives. Develop civil/structural engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments. Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results. Guide and direct associate level engineers, technicians and drafters. Recommend alternative solutions to management in area of specialty on engineering solutions to meet business needs. Deliver on commitments and manage outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work. Analyze and design engineering methods.
In addition, the Sr. Level responsibilities include: Perform engineering responsibilities without assistance and little or no supervision. Perform role as expert civil/structural consultant for field operations and customers. Act as a lead expert in the work group; train and mentor associate and career level engineers, and technicians. Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support company objectives, utilizing engineering methods. Develop highly complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments. Maintain project timelines and budgets.
REQUIREMENTS:
Engineer I Level requirements for this position include the following:
•Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university •Basic knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty •Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations •Ability to interact favorably with project and work teams •Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations •Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools •Hold a valid driver’s license, ability to travel and perform field work as needed.
In addition, the Engineer II role includes: •A minimum of two years of directly related experience in engineering related field. •Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws regulations and the ASCE, NEC and IEEE codes. •Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness •Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.
In addition, the Sr. Level Engineer includes: •A minimum of five years of directly related experience in engineering related field. •Hold a valid Professional Engineering license in civil engineering. •Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty. •Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
