Who we are The Capital Improvements Division of the Public Works &#38; Utilities Department is responsible for the management and coordination of the orderly design and construction of the City&#39;s capital infrastructure in the Capital Improvement Program, including procurement of professional services, design, construction and construction management for transportation, utilities, public buildings, community services and other general government improvements. Who we are looking for Our new team member will provide excellent customer service and has a passion for project management of capital improvement projects and use of full range of professional engineering principles and practices in areas such as civil, structural, water resources, traffic, or contract administration; planning, developing, programming, design, and implementing projects. &#xa0;Our new team member will be able to negotiate and administer multiple contracts, provide technical review of designs and estimates, and coordinate with other agencies and utility companies. 
 Minimum Qualifications Engineer ($72,223 - $101,111 DOE): &#8226;&#xa0;Bachelor&#39;s Degree in an Engineering field or related field; and &#8226;&#xa0;Four (4) years&#39; progressively responsible experience in civil engineering; and &#8226;&#xa0;Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona; and &#8226;&#xa0;Valid Arizona Driver&#39;s License with acceptable driving record; or &#8226; Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work and which meets licensing requirements. &#xa0; Minimum Qualifications&#xa0;Engineering Project Manager ($66,893 - $93,621 DOE): &#8226;&#xa0;Bachelor&#39;s Degree in an Engineering field or related field; and &#8226; Four (4) years&#39; progressively responsible experience in civil engineering; and &#8226; Valid Arizona Driver&#39;s License with acceptable driving record; or &#8226; Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work and which meets licensing requirements. 
 Desired Qualifications: &#8226;&#xa0;Master&#39;s Degree; &#8226; Five (5) years&#39; experience managing capital projects developing plans, specifications and estimates for various public works projects including roadway, drainage, buildings, parks and recreations facilities, airports, water and/or sewer improvements.

 Beavers-Ames Lecturer (all ranks) in Heavy/Civil Construction 
 The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the Del E. Web School of Construction (DEWSC) of the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE) seek applicants for a full-time lecturer/senior lecturer/principal lecturer in the field of Heavy/Civil Construction. SSEBE has established undergraduate and graduate programs in Construction Management and Technology, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Sustainable Engineering. The candidate is expected to contribute substantially to fulfilling teaching responsibilities in the Heavy/Civil Construction and closely related fields. 
 Appointment will begin as early as August 1, 2021, in a non-tenure track at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal Lecturer rank. The rank at time of appointment will be dependent upon qualifications. &#xa0; 
 As part of fulfilling instructional duties in the school, the Beavers-Ames Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal Lecturer in Heavy/Civil Construction will have the opportunity and is expected to be involved in: 
 
 Teaching Heavy/Civil Construction and closely related classes at the undergraduate/graduate levels in-class and online 
 Developing new courses and curricula, and improving existing courses 
 Working with student organizations and student competition teams 
 Engaging with local and national Heavy/Civil Construction industry and professional associations 
 
 The position is expected to cover foundational learning at the lower-division (Freshman and Sophomore) and specialized learning at the upper-division (Junior and Senior) of the Construction programs. Depending on qualifications and rank, the candidate may also be expected to teach graduate courses focused in the Heavy/Civil Construction area.

 Minimum of a Master&#39;s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering or a closely related area 
 Prior experience in teaching classes at an institution of higher education 
 Minimum of five years industry experience in the Heavy/Civil Construction area 
 
 Preferred Qualifications: 
 
 Registered professional engineer (PE), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or other recognized certification 
 Expertise and ability to teach across a broad range of construction courses 
 Evidence of teaching experience in professional training, seminars, peer-groups, and other non-traditional coursework 
 Evidence of teaching innovations that incorporate pedagogies of engagement, effective use of technology in the learning environment, and assessment techniques that include formative feedback 
 Experience working with students, student clubs, and student competitions 
 Familiarity with ACCE and/or ABET accreditation processes</description>
