								<description>Erlanger, Kentucky,  RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides value engineered solutions to our residential product design and innovations to residential building systems. Advocates on building codes to Fischer Homes and the homebuilding industry. Understands the major competitor&#8217;s building systems in all our markets and works with internal team members in evaluating current and new building systems for Fischer Homes&#8217; product. Represents Fischer Homes in trade and code groups to achieve cost-effective solutions and networks with building and zoning code officials. Ensures that Fischer Homes&#8217; products are in compliance with all applicable national, state, and local building codes. Informs and trains internal team members on new residential building code requirements in a timely manner. Provides field assistance to code and construction-related issues. Evaluates engineering and building systems during the prototype building process and evaluates all engineering provided by outside resources. Participates in the review of new product design and new master documentation to ensure that the best value-engineered approach and solution is achieved. Advises in recruiting, hiring, and directing outside engineering consultants. Determines root cause and implement appropriate countermeasures. A minimum of 2 years of experience in residential engineering or a related field. Ability and willingness to lead. Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills. Ability to listen to and understand the customer (both internal and external). Excellent communication skills. Ability to successfully balance and follow up on multiple tasks while meeting all deadlines. A professional engineering license is a plus. Bachelors Degree preferred in Architectural Engineering or Structural Engineering.</description>
