This is a highly responsible management position overseeing the Engineering/Construction Division in the Environmental Services Department which performs engineering, design, permitting, plan reviews, and inspection of all County Environmental Services projects to include both Utilities and Solid Waste Sections. Provides communication and builds collaborative relationships between these services and the Director, Administration, Board of County Commissioners, citizens and other internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for staff leadership, development and responsible for the development and management of the Environmental Services Capital Improvement Program (“CIP”) to include budget oversight. Performs direct and supervisory licensed professional engineering work. This is an Emergency Essential position that is required to respond as directed during local state of emergency.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental, or related engineering field. Seven (7) years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in water and/or wastewater utilities or closely related field. Three (3) years minimum experience as a supervisor. Proven track record of keeping projects on time, on budget and constructed within specifications.
Licenses Valid Florida Driver License.
Certifications Professional Engineering certification from the state of Florida or the ability to obtain within a reasonable time by having certification in a state that has a reciprocal licensing agreement with Florida
